If you’re looking for unique and beautiful artwork to make your brand's products stand out, we can work together to create bespoke patterns that reflect your brand.
1. GET IN TOUCH & SHARE YOUR IDEAS
We begin with a chat to see if we are a good fit and so I can get an understanding of the vision you have in mind for your new pattern/s. I will provide you with a quote for my pattern design services based on your needs and timeframe. You’ll then sign the contract and pay a 50% deposit and then we'll get started! |
2. CREATING YOUR BEAUTIFUL DESIGN
I work my magic and bring your creative vision to life! I’ll have questions for you so I can develop a design concept that perfectly aligns with your brand. I'll then present you with your concept. Some brands have a clear brief while others are open to my ideas and creative process. We then refine the pattern/s so they are spot on! Two rounds of refinement are included in the process. |
4. HIT PRINT
Then it’s time to send your new pattern to the printer and/or manufacturer! I’ll provide you with your new pattern/s in the relevant files for the printer, as well as low-res images for social media. I’ll share your gorgeous project on social media and create some hype for your new products! |
Licence types
An exclusive license means that a pattern or artwork will be licensed once only. It will not be licensed again to any other party for any other purpose for the duration of the license. A pattern purchased exclusively can be used by the person/company named in the contract for a set time period from the date of purchase. The copyright is always retained by the artist.
A category-exclusive license means the artwork will only be licensed once per category. So, it can be licensed simultaneously by a stationery company, and a kidswear company, for example, but no competitors will be able to license the artwork. The pattern can be used by the business named in the contract for a set period of time from the date of purchase, but only in the category stipulated in the contract. The copyright is always retained by the artist.
If you wish to purchase a category-exclusive license across multiple categories, please contact me.
A non-exclusive license mean that a pattern or artwork can be purchased and used by multiple businesses on their products. These licenses are usually for a fixed term. The copyright is always retained by the artist.
Duration
A license is given for a set period of time. From 2 years to 5 years is common. If the company wants to use the design forever, then the exclusive license will be in perpetuity. When deciding how long you will need to license a design, factor in the manufacturing and delivery time and number of seasons you anticipate stocking the product.
Categories
Some examples of categories are: baby products; kids wear; bedding; homewares; stationery; bolt fabric; and fashion.
The contract
Once a pattern is purchased, a contract will be generated and sent via email. This contract will stipulate the terms of use, and will include the license type, category (if non-exclusive) and the person/company to whom the pattern may be used. The pattern must not be used by any other person/company that is not included in the contract. The copyright of the pattern is always retained by the artist.
