I recently edited together a short video documenting the way I create my intaglio prints. Check it out! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments.
I had such fun colouring these surfboards with watercolours. They form a unique state print which I have framed and for sale at the Artisan Store, Fremantle.
I've also made them into bookmarks! They're being printed this week and will be available in my Etsy shop soon.
Introducing: Surfer Survival Kits.
I have a very limited number of Surfer Survival Kits available in my Etsy Shop. I'm so excited to finally launch them. Each one is a labour of love with a hand-painted fin key and a hand-painted AND stitched pouch, complete with a little beaded zipper.
I went all out and had bamboo wax combs made with the Mermaid's Coin logo on them. I also throw in a block of organic surfboard wax and a legrope tie. Because I KNOW what it's like to break a leggie at the beginning of a session. Never be caught out again.
After a lot of procrastinating, I've finally dived into some carving. I spent a full day in the studio printing last week and now have some lovely new goodies in my Etsy store. I have editions in navy, aqua and black.
What would you like to see as a linoprint?
My next class is coming up real soon. Next weekend in fact!
I'm looking forward to a morning filled with techniques to document your next holiday and fill that journal with colour. Resist techniques. Mixed media. Travelling light. I can't wait. If only I had a cool holiday of my own coming up!
My last class for this season will cover lovely, vibrant wet-in-wet techniques. Galaxies and crystals, oh my! April 7, and after that I hope to be spending my weekend surfing!
Head to my classes page for all the details. I hope to see you for some colour and a cuppa.
